I noticed that with the 2.6.7-2 packages that are in unstable now, the
Installed-Size field reads "8916". Larger than the 2.4.14-2 package, but
not unreasonably so. As far as I'm concerned, feel free to close this bug
report.

dh_strip is correctly called, and for .a files, strip --strip-debug is

"8172". With the new libgtk2.0-dev 2.4.6-1 i386 package it reads "35168".
That means the new package is more than four times the size of the old one.
