So, what is supposed to be the problem ? If you have all the fonts
required for these glyphes, there's no problem. I see no problem with
chinese, japanese, russian, arabic, etc. nor with the euro sign.
Try installing some other fonts.

The problem is that I use the Bitstream Vera (Sans/Serif/Mono) and
whatever other fonts in both galeon AND firefox and I see the Euro sign
in galeon but not in firefox, see:
