Package: ipopd-ssl Version: N/A; reported 2005-02-11 Severity: important Client tries to connect and I see in logs something like
pop3s SSL service init from 192.168.1.215 but that is all. The client reports failure in connection and that it was refused by the server. The problem is that the corresponding processes ipop3d does not exit but remains and can be listed with ps auxf | grep pop root 26622 0.0 0.0 4016 1592 ? S< Feb10 0:00 \_ipop3d root 30559 0.0 0.0 4012 1592 ? S< Feb10 0:00 \_ipop3d Moreover as there is a limit on connections pre source in xinetd when such processes acumulate it results into denial of service for that client. (Yes this can be changed but that is not a solution) Note that this happens only when the client is connected to the internet with a gsm edge card. That is via mobile operator. If he is connected with wireless or cable everything is O.K. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: dpkg: failed to open configuration file `/etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg' for reading: Permission denied Kernel: Linux quantum 2.4.29 #1 SMP Fri Jan 28 11:45:32 CET 2005 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
