Package: gqview Version: 2.0.0-1 Severity: wishlist It would be really nice if gqview would use the Gimp file format plugins if they are detected. I know this is a major feature request but writing an interface to the Gimp plugins would really pay off in the long term for gqview and the whole open source community.
gqview would profit since it can show obscure and less obscure files (.psd and .xwd come to mind) with the help of several well-tested plugins. The community would profit since having a preview capability for legacy data makes moving away from using closed-source operating systems and closed-source image manipulation software more likely. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i586) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-1-386 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) Versions of packages gqview depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.2-4 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
