Package: libwxgtk2.4-python
Version: 2.4.2.6
Followup-For: Bug #308420

My sid system has both wxpython2.5.3 and libwxgtk2.4-python 2.4.2.6 currently
installed.

Apt wants to upgrade libwxgtk2.4-python to libwxgtk2.4-python_2.4.3.1_i386.deb
but
cannot because of this /usr/bin/helpviewer conflict:

Preparing to replace libwxgtk2.4-python 2.4.2.6 (using
..../libwxgtk2.4-python_2.4.3.1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libwxgtk2.4-python ...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/libwxgtk2.4-python_2.4.3.1_i386.deb
(--install):
trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/helpviewer', which is also in package
wxpython2.5.3
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)

Removing the offending and now 'not in debian' package offers to remove most of
debian, I'd rather not. :) Surely there is a solution? If the package is 'not
in
debian' how will it get removed?

I can see that there has been angst over this problem, but I'm just a debian
user,
and my system is stuck on this, and I guess so are others. Can someone suggest
a
solution so that we can proceed please?

Thanks,

Michael
