Package: ftpd
Version: 0.17-20
Severity: important

All login attempts fail with "login incorrect". For example:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:ammons$ ftp trek.watson.ibm.com
  Connected to trek.watson.ibm.com.
  220 trek.watson.ibm.com FTP server (Version 6.4/OpenBSD/Linux-ftpd-0.17)
ready.
  Name (trek.watson.ibm.com:ammons):
  331 Password required for ammons.
  Password:
  530 Login incorrect.
  Login failed.
  ftp>

The username and password is right and I haven't changed any configuration
files. No
messages appear in /var/log/auth.log or /var/log/syslog.

Strangely, the same package works on another machine.
