Package: debian-policy
Version: 3.6.1.1
Severity: wishlist

The relevant packages within KDE, GNOME, and Xfce4 all provide the
x-session-manager virtual package [1], and register x-session-manager in
the alternatives system. Since the general policy modus operandi, as I
understand it, is for policy to follow usage, x-session-manager should
therefore be added to virtual-package-names-list.txt.

An appropriate description would be "a program which starts a desktop
environment or launches a general X session (*)".

Thanks,
Christopher Martin
