Package: esound-clients Version: 0.2.36-1 Severity: important Today's apt brought in new esound-clients... and all of a sudden some sounds stopped playing.
It's not the esd server: I didn't stop or restart my running esd. 'strace esdplay' shows nothing useful. The difference between esdplay on foo.au vs foo.wav is: BOTH: open("path", O_RDONLY) = 3 fstat64() _llseek() read() ...but when run on a .au file, esdplay exits(0). On a .wav, esdplay goes on to access("/tmp/.esd/socket", R_OK|W_OK), socket(), etc and the sound plays. (In short: 'esdplay foo.au' never attempts to contact esd server) -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.20 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) Versions of packages esound-clients depends on: ii esound-common 0.2.36-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Common ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-6 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libesd0 0.2.36-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared esound-clients recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
