Package: libsdl1.2debian Version: 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3 Severity: important
During system installation, I selected ALSA sound system when I was asked for it. However, I couldn't get audio out of an SDL app (dosbox). After MUCH fiddling around, I found that "libsdl1.2debian-oss" was installed, however the alternative "libsdl1.2debian-alsa" SHOULD be installed. I don't think it's ok for a user to have to dive into the innards of library dependencies to find out that a wrong library was installed automatically. To be honest, dosbox audio now doesn't work either for my game in question, but at least it has stopped telling me that it cannot open an audio device. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13-ck4 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libsdl1.2debian depends on: ii libsdl1.2debi 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3 Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11 libsdl1.2debian recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
