severity #340891 important retitle #340891 using update-grub as kernel-package hook is not supported any more thanks
Update-grub writing to stdout breaks kernels built with recent kernel-package versions if update-grub is used as a kernel-img hook. This is now documented behavior of kernel-package, and is not going to change. Thus, (a) the documentation in grub's README.Debian is now a sure recipe to break installation and removal of kernels and should be changed ASAP and (b) since being able to automatically have grub configuration adapted on installation or removal of kernels is a _really_ good thing, I'd love to see update-grub being adapted to work with kernel package again. Please coordinate with Manoj. Greetings Marc -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc Haber | "I don't trust Computers.
