Package: lighttpd
Version: 1.4.9-3
Severity: important

Hi

I already had this problem before lighttpd entered Debian, but as I
needed to compile it by myself anyway it was not so serious problem.

There is some problem with sendfile on specific systems (vServer, quite
low memory) what leads to sending partial file content and throwing
errors to log:

(network_linux_sendfile.c.171) sendfile failed: Value too large for defined
data type 6
(connections.c.536) connection closed: write failed on fd 6

Maybe there are not handled some error codes from sendfile, but I didn't
yet find time to check sources.

Workaround for this is to disable sendfile, but this can be
unfortunately done only at compile time [1]. I know this is performance
trade-off, but it works for me.

I hope you will find some good solution.
