Dear Loïc Minier, After reading some materials about id3 info in mp3 format files, I have to admit that gstreamer development group has done a right decision. According to the standards of id3, id3v1.x should only use iso-8859-1, id3v2.2 use iso-8859-1 too, id3v2.3 use iso-8859-1 and utf-16, and id3v2.4 use only utf-8. The traditional way we're using, forcing id3 be encoded in locale dependent format, is too rough. Moreover, this method also results in many other problems.
Well, I think it's time to change to obey the standands, although the convertion process is painful little a bit :( Sorry for this annoying bug report. Thank you very much. BTW: how can I convert all mp3 files' id3 info into UTF-16 for 2.3 or UTF-8 for 2.4 bukly? I have tried easytag, but it fails to complete this task.
