Joost asked about permissions on various directories. That led me to the real problem: I had accidentally put the archives in /var/lib/mailman/mailman/archives, not /var/lib/mailman/archives. Fixing that fixed everything. Sorry to bother you. Please close the bug. -- Carl Fink
