Package: diatheke Version: 1.5.8-8 Severity: normal -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1
It is possible to use diatheke without web-server (for example, I use it in a small script for mailing me a Psalm-a-day) and so the correct relationship between packages should be Recommends not Depends. From the Debian policy (http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html): Thanks, matej Depends This declares an absolute dependency. A package will not be configured unless all of the packages listed in its Depends field have been correctly configured. The Depends field should be used if the depended-on package is required for the depending package to provide a significant amount of functionality. The Depends field should also be used if the postinst, prerm or postrm scripts require the package to be present in order to run. Note, however, that the postrm cannot rely on any non-essential packages to be present during the purge phase. Recommends This declares a strong, but not absolute, dependency. The Recommends field should list packages that would be found together with this one in all but unusual installations. - -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (600, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15.6 Locale: LANG=cs_CZ.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=cs_CZ.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages diatheke depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcomerr2 1.38+1.39-WIP-2005.12.31-1 common error description library ii libcurl3-gnut 7.15.3-1 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libgcc1 1:4.0.3-1 GCC support library ii libgcrypt11 1.2.2-1 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libgnutls12 1.2.9-2 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libgpg-error0 1.2-1 library for common error values an ii libidn11 0.5.18-2 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libkrb53 1.4.3-6 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libstdc++6 4.0.3-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libsword5c2a 1.5.8-8 API/library for bible software ii libtasn1-2 0.2.17-1 Manage ASN.1 structures (runtime) ii thttpd [httpd 2.23beta1-4 tiny/turbo/throttling HTTP server ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-11 compression library - runtime Versions of packages diatheke recommends: pn libapache-mod-perl | apache-p <none> (no description available) - -- no debconf information -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEIgyS4J/vJdlkhKwRAm9jAJ42lm1WZQqRWHesJ4jpNUeoHQRA2gCggT6P KJ9Ht2YQRb3rM83dSeO/0FA= =sLIy -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
