Package: prelink Version: 0.0.20050901-1 Severity: wishlist If you have a binary with a DT_RPATH or DT_RUNPATH tag pointing at a particular directory, prelink should look in that directory for libraries when processing that binary.
For example: consider /usr/bin/octave-2.1.73 from the current octave2.1 package. This binary has a DT_RPATH for /usr/lib/octave-2.1.73, and DT_NEEDEDs for three shared libraries in that directory. If one attempts to prelink this binary with no special options, prelink complains about being unable to find all the dependencies. If one adds --ld-library-path=/usr/lib/octave-2.1.73 to the command line, it succeeds. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-1-686-smp Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages prelink depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libelfg0 0.8.6-3 an ELF object file access library ii libselinux1 1.30-1 SELinux shared libraries prelink recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
