Hi all! This bug is not fixed in the packaged version, but the latest version from git contains a fix, see the bug log on xorg bugzilla #615. There is a workaround, though: loading matroxfb_base with modprobe (thus switching to the framebuffer), but *not* using UseFBDev in xorg.conf gets the 2nd head running. Caveat: I only got clone mode, and then only with mouse pointer on one screen. real dualhead has some bugs still.
