Package: lftp Version: 3.4.7-1 Severity: minor lftp uses a rather funky build setup, multiple temporary libtool objects are built (./src/proto-file.la, ./src/proto-sftp.la, ...) and are later linked together to the final lftp binary. However somewhere in this chain things go wrong and lftp ends up being linked *directly* against all indirect dependencies. For example it ends up being linked against libtasn although it only using libgnutls (which in turn links against libtasn)[1].
Debian's libtool (and the version shipped with lftp) are generally smart enough to not do this useless linking. cu andreas [1] Tests done with libgnutls-dev 1.4.0-3, so that LIBGNUTLS_LIBS expands only to -lgnutls. -- The 'Galactic Cleaning' policy undertaken by Emperor Zhark is a personal vision of the emperor's, and its inclusion in this work does not constitute tacit approval by the author or the publisher for any such projects, howsoever undertaken.
