For what it's worth - this seems to be a (gcc 4.1?) optimization bug. If you get the source for version 6739 and compile it with -O0 everything works fine - as far as tested. The bug appears in solo.c:1088 - memset() in solver_forcing() - a function which doesn't even has a symbol in gdb with -O2.
