I can't possibly find #383747 critical -- does it break the entire system? Introduce a remote-root security hole? Cause critical data loss? Making another package FTBFS (by changing the appearance of a few fonts) is really not RC for a package. You may want to simply update the tests or disable them for the time being, which will fix your FTBFS.
