We cannot deal with this bug report with the information we have currently. Moreover, none of us has been able to reproduce it. As a consequence, I'm hereby tagging it accordingly and I'm considering closing it. The only way to *maybe* reproduce that bug could be by removing passwd from a working Debian system....and this is something that should not be done, passwd being a required package. --
