Package: xloadimage Version: 4.1-16 Severity: important Hello !
I'm using xloadimage with the -onroot option to have a permanent diaporama on the background. However, I found that after a certain time, all the X clients crash with the following output Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Maximum number of clients reached I tracked the problem back to xloadimage: when I run xloadimage -onroot a big number of times (say 300), the above error message appears. This is however not the case for other X clients (such as xlsclient). I believe that under the -onroot option, the client connection is not closed properly. I tagged the bug important as it strongly affects the usability of X servers (at least for me). Thanks for considering this report ! Vincent Fourmond PS: I'll try to find the problem, if I have time. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_GB) Versions of packages xloadimage depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libjpeg62 6b-13 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-5.2 PNG library - runtime ii libtiff4 3.8.2-6 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libx11-6 2:1.0.0-8 X11 client-side library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime xloadimage recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
