Meanwhile it seems it's not so bad, so at least the priority can be downgraded to normal (not sure about closing it yet). It appears that at 85 Hz I can get any resolution up to 1162x864 but not 1280x960 or 1280x1024. I can also get 1280x960 @ 60 Hz.
So it might be my monitor dying (no good way to test it yet, it's a heavy 20" CRT), or some problem with programming higher clock rates. Has anything changed it clock setting/... in the last month?
