Hi, I've experienced the same problem when I restart my firewall-PC. Clearly, the tmpfs /lib/init/rw was not created... I've read the changelog of SysVinit and.. guess what ? Mounting this directory first appeared in 2.86.ds1-23 and testing version is only 2.86.ds1-20 !! but libnss-ldap

Hi, What is your version of package sysvinit/initscripts ? You probably use frozen testing version with no support for /lib/init/rw/ : http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/s/sysvinit/sysvinit_2.86.ds1-33/changelog/ See #390926 for more comments. Regards, -- Gregory Colpart [EMAIL

Package: libnss-ldap Version: 251-5.2 Severity: important /lib/init/rw is not created (at least on upgrades), rendering system unbootable. Creating this directory by hand solved the issue. Regards -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-3-686
