It looks like the tabs in the patch have been converted to spaces. Try
using the -l (ignore whitespace changes) option to patch.

It seems the error is in the pci_scan() function in src/pci.c.
Unfortunately, the strace doesn't tell me anything more about what is

strace -s512 -ff -v atitv snap test.ppm /tmp/strace.txt 21 should
do the trick, resulting in the trace in /tmp/strace.txt.
