I've just tested building against wx 2.8 for another bug, and checked if this bug is still an issue. The situation is improved, but not quite perfect. If the kicad language selection is set to Default it starts up in French fine with fr_CH.UTF-8 as the locale (and no other French ones

Kicad is unable to use the locales (thus they are in the package). It always (and with each component) reports me : Cannot set locale to 'fr_FR' Do you have the french locale available on your system? I get the same error if I try to switch to french when I only have the gb locale. If I
