I was able to reproduce this bug easily on a fresh Etch install (with current
packages from sid, obviously).

I've also seen this bug before. In my case, it occurred when I was
trying out Compiz and had to upgrade to the Nvidia drivers in
experimental. When I downgraded back to unstable, this error occurred.
I unfortunately don't have time to debug it now, but I thought I should
