Package: fvwm
Severity: wish

Hello Manoj, happy new year...

I forward this message to you since it helped me to get private localized
menu files running with fvwm without getting errors by adding hotkeys.

It would be nice if you include this in the /etc/menu-methods/fvwm
distributed with you fvwm package.

Sorry, if you get this bug twice, but on 2006-12-03 to 2006-12-17 the
Debian-BTS has spamed my Mailbox with OVER 700 Mbyte GIF's and unsubscribed
me from ober 700 packages... Since then I was not more able to RESUBSCRIBE
to a singel Package.

Please can you (as DD) check whether I am BLACKLISTED by <murphy>?

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day

Hello Bill,

I close this bug since I have gotten the pig running:

----8<--------------------------------------------------------------
####################################################
#                                                  #
#    Modified function, which execute "$hotkey"    #
# only, if the title() is NOT LOCALIZED. #
#                                                  #
####################################################
function start($var,$com)=\
    "+ \"" ifelse(ifneq(replace(title(), "$[gt.", "#"), title(), "GETTEXT"), \
                  title(), escfirst(esc(title(),"\\\""),$hotkey,"&")) \
    iffile(icon(), cond_surr(icon(),"%","%")) "\" " $var " " $com "\n"

----8<--------------------------------------------------------------

Now if in /etc/menu-methods/fvwm is the string

    $[gt.Some string to translate]

is detected, hotkeys will not be added.

How it works?

Since i can not search in strings, I use replace() to replace the
string "$[gt." with "#" and compare it with the original string.
If it is NOT eaual, I output the String "GETTEXT" and then it output
the title() unchanged. Otherwise it will add $hotkey.

Now I have tested it some monht and it works perfectly...
I will forward it to Manoj Srivasta and the "fvwm" package.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day
