Package: xscreensaver Version: 4.24-5 Severity: wishlist Architecture: i386
Hi there, The BSOD screen saver from the xscreensaver package is very nice, but in my humble opinion the description of BSOD in the French language could be improved. My native language is French :). Here is the English-language version of the BSOD description: BSOD stands for ``Blue Screen of Death.'' The finest in personal computer emulation, this hack simulates popular screen savers from a number of less robust operating systems. Written by Jamie Zawinski. Here is the French-language version of the BSOD description: BSOD signifie «Blue Screen of Death» (écran bleu de la mort). Fine fleur de l'émulation PC, ce hack simule des économiseurs d'écran de plusieurs systèmes d'exploitation moins puissants. Écrit par Jamie Zawinski. The translation is accurate, but in my opinion, "robust" would be better translated as "robuste" rather than "puissant". Actually "puissant" means "powerful" in English. To me "robust" and "powerful" aren't synonymous. So in my opinion the full description of BSOD in xscreensaver should read: BSOD signifie «Blue Screen of Death» (écran bleu de la mort). Fine fleur de l'émulation PC, ce hack simule des économiseurs d'écran de plusieurs systèmes d'exploitation moins robustes. Écrit par Jamie Zawinski. Of course, this is just a minor translation issue, this for sure is not a major bug :) System Information: Debian release: 4.0 "etch" Architecture: i386 CPU: Pentium III (Katmai) at 450 MHz Memory: 256 MB Linux cobra 2.6.18-3-686 #1 SMP Mon Dec 4 16:41:14 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux Version of packages xscreensaver depends on: libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.12.1), libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6), libcairo2 (>= 1.2.0), libfontconfig1 (>= 2.3.0), libglade2-0 (>= 1:2.5.1), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.10.0), libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.8.0), libice6, libjpeg62, libpam0g (>= 0.76), libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.12.3), libsm6, libx11-6, libxcursor1 (>> 1.1.2), libxext6, libxfixes3, libxi6, libxinerama1, libxml2 (>= 2.6.26), libxmu6, libxpm4, libxrandr2, libxrender1, libxt6, libxxf86misc1, libxxf86vm1 Mvg, -- Pierre Bauduin Linux enthusiast since 1996 Debian GNU/Linux user website: http://pierre.baudu.in/
