After upgrading egroupware all files in /var/lib/egroupware haven been
changed to owner www-data which is not what we use on our server. Please
keep the original ownership (wwwrun in our case). With the wrong owner
egroupware doesn't

That is your problem. Debian uses www-data.

In other words you don't care. This is a bad attitude since debian uses by
default
