It also fails if the pipe is sent to a file:

Attached is '/tmp/boo'.

Other 'dog' filters seem to work:

        % man dog | head -n 2 | dog --krad
        Dog(l)                           User ManUal5                           
DoG(1)

        % man dog | head -n 2 | dog --oog
        DOG(1) USER MANUALS DOG(1)
