Icedove provides IMAP/POP support, a built-in RSS reader,support for HTML mail, 
powerful quick search, saved search folders, advanced message filtering, junk 
mail controls, message grouping, labels, return receipts, smart address book 
LDAP address completion, import tools and the ability to manage multiple 
identities in email and newsgroup accounts.

Icedove provides enterprise and government grade security such as S/MIME, 
digital signing, message encryption, and support for certificates and security 
devices.

Open the folder view (the main Icedove view. This is the default is no other 
options are given. If both -mail and URL are given then both the folder view 
and the composer will be opened.

.BR \-compose [args]
Compose a new message. This is the default if URL is given and there are no 
other options given. URL should use the mailto: schema. 
args may be specified instead of URL. It should consist of one or more 
comma-separated key=value pairs. This form allows an attachment to be specified 
on the command line. If it is used and icedove is not already running then both 
the composer and the folder view will be opened.

Display the address book.

Display the preferences window.

Display the profile manager. This allows you to select which profile to use, as 
well as create and delete new or existing profiles.

Start with the specified profile. If no profile is specified, display the 
Profile Manager.

more debugging messages.
