I wonder if you simply want to use the --batch switch instead to avoid
interaction (maybe together with the --to-tty switch)?

Hi,
When I invoke gnupg from a script, it always wants to interact with the
user if the uid has an experiation date (while signing). This is tricky
for a non-interactive script.
