Package: lintian Version: 1.23.32 Severity: minor Ruby libraries (.rb files in /usr/lib/ruby/...) often contain unit tests used during the development phase. For this purpose they carry a shebang at the top and checks at the bottom. When installed, the libs are installed non-executable (logically). However, this leads to the warning 'script-not-executable' and even the error 'wrong-path-for-ruby'. The check, however, is irrelevant for these non-executable libs because the shebang will never be interpreted.
After agreeing with Russ that an exception for Ruby library files should be made, he asked me to file this bug report as a reminder.
