Package: util-linux Version: 2.12r-19 Severity: normal Hi LaMont,
we already discussed this topic briefly in private, so this bug report is mostly to keep track of this issue and document it publicly. Development around the old util-linux package, maintained by Adrian Bunck, has more or less stalled. There is a new initiative called util-linux-ng [1], [2], where most of the development, also with new features, is happening. One of the more interesting features (for me as HAL co-maintainer), is the ability to specify a custom helper command for mount. This way, you could cleanly unmount partitions, that have been mounted with HAL, with the unmount command. Cheers, Michael [1] ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/util-linux-ng/ [2] git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/utils/util-linux-ng/util-linux-ng.git -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (300, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-rc7 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages util-linux depends on: ii libc6 2.5-11 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.6-3 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libslang2 2.0.7-2 The S-Lang programming library - r ii libuuid1 1.40-1 universally unique id library ii lsb-base 3.1-23.1 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii tzdata 2007f-9 time zone and daylight-saving time ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime util-linux recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
