Package: irssi
Version: 4.0.3-0.3
Severity: wishlist

Screen should ship with "defnonblock 5" by default in /etc/screenrc. This
solves a number of common issues involved with using GNU screen with
OpenSSH and the Irssi IRC client.

It is my understanding that sshd stops accepting bytes in certain
situations, which causes Screen to stop accepting bytes, which in
turn causes Irssi to hang writing bytes.

Enabling 'defnonblock 5' in a screenrc (proposed in #172605 but now
included upstream) fixes this problem for me. I have tested this on a
number of SSH clients, including Simon Tatham's PuTTY.
