I have done a quick hack test...
I downloaded & hacked the sources for the last version of cdrkit
(BTW it was ver. 2.01.01a31 by Jörg Schilling, not wodim ones) and
simply copied the audiomaster check from the "mmc_isyamaha" section
to the "mmc_isplextor" one, as for the following patch:
