Package: jabber Version: 1.4.3-3.3 Please don't run jabberd as user adm; the intent of a dedicated user is to provide segregation between processes. Only UID is checked for some things (I think signals) but group adm is too much access. $ dpkg -L jabber |xargs grep -A1 -we adm /etc/init.d/jabber
