Simply changing in /usr/bin/startkde file:
LD_BIND_NOW=true start_kdeinit --new-startup +kcminit_startup
to
LD_BIND_NOW=true start_kdeinit_wrapper --new-startup +kcminit_startup

This temporary workaround worked for me. Yeehaw! I am glad I am not the 
only one with this issue! :)
