I just got a new revision of desktop-file-utils into Ubuntu, which adds an "options" section to desktop-file-validate's manpage and also includes bash completion for the same. You can find a debdiff against Ubuntu's 0.14-0ubuntu1 here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10807718/desktop-file-utils_0.14-0ubuntu2.debdiff I'd would be great if this changes could be included into Debian, too. (If you don't like the idea of enabling bash completion by default -as it might increase the terminal's load time in some ms- it would be still great if you added it to the example directory).
