It should be pretty safe to switch to a svn snapshot. There are
actually not that many commits since the last release and a quick
check reveals that they all seem to be just bug fixes. I've been using
revision 21 almost from the day it was committed and I didn't
experience any problems at all.

As the current version of Checkgmail does not work anymore with the
GMail servers, it would be better to use the SVN version (where the
problem is fixed).
