I agree, it looks like that was supposed to be an elif, not an if.
Your change looks correct, and I don't think it can hurt anything.

I'll get the patch applied and a new package uploaded as soon as
possible.  I'll close both this bug and 460698 as part of my upload.

Also, I submitted your patch upstream as SF request #1889814.

Thanks for looking into this.  I'm sorry I wasn't able to get to it
sooner, and I appreciate the help.
