Package: gnome Version: 1:2.14.3.6 Severity: normal I recently tried to purge Evolution. I don't use it and it is a 200MB+ disk hog. The package manager Synaptic told me that I can either have Gnome with Evolution or no Gnome at all. Just to try if it really meant it, I purged Evolution and ended up without Gnome as well.
Does Gnome really depend on Evolution, or is this a balls up at the packaging farm - or is it a bug in Synaptic? -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gnome depends on: ii gdm-themes 0.5.1 Themes for the GNOME Display Manag ii gnome-cups-manager 0.31-3 CUPS printer admin tool for GNOME ii gnome-desktop-environment 1:2.14.3.6 The GNOME Desktop Environment ii gnome-games-extra-data 2.20.0-1 games for the GNOME desktop (extra ii gnome-office 1:2.14.3.6 The GNOME Office suite ii gnome-power-manager 2.20.2-3 frontend for gnome-powermanager ii gnome-screensaver 2.20.0-2 GNOME screen saver and locker ii gnome-themes-extras 0.9.0.deb0.3 various themes for the GNOME 2 des ii rhythmbox 0.10.1-1+b3 music player and organizer for GNO ii synaptic 0.61+b1 Graphical package manager ii totem-mozilla 2.20.3-1 Totem Mozilla plugin gnome recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
