sorry for the long delay. I tried to reproduce this bug but could not
succeed. Since you said that you can trigger it just running
squid_unix_group from the command line writing foobar and CR, I tried
that, but every instance I could try just showed the normal behaviour

can you please provide your squid configuration file (/etc/squid/
squid.conf)? If you're running the squid_unix_group from the command
line as it seems from your mail, the garbage you see is simply
something you are passing to the program just after 'foobar'.
If you are running it
do you see the garbage text as well ? beside the multiplie
"helper: Group does not exist" lines ?
it looks like binary text you get when printing a binary executable on the
console ,
and it fiils up /var/log/squid/cache.log with this text , it dosen't look
very informative to me.
