i intend to adopt Byzanz and want to become the new maintainer. I guess
the reply is far to late but nevertheless here are my thoughts on this
bug report.
Byzanz is implemented as a GNOME applet which actually means the only
way to make it visible is to add

good to see you're still around. I think the package is finished. I've
already uploaded it

byzans should ship a .desktop file so that it shows up in the GNOME
menu. Currently, after installing it, it is not clear how to start using
it.
