I have started seeing the same problem here recently. The command I use
here is:
xterm -fn 8x13 -geometry 100x65 -e /home/fgouget/bin/alpine
Of course, neither alpine nor xterm hang.
What is a bit strange is that it's only very recently that I started
seeing this (it feels like past
