Be sure to export it *before* running Xfce. If you use gdm (or a login manager) or if you use startx for login in, you can try to export it in .xsessionrc (create it if needed). I don't really use input methods so I can't really help you more, but it should not really matter wether you're in GNOME or Xfce in this case. Cheers, -- Yves-Alexis
