Package: module-init-tools Version: 3.4-1 When I switched to using linux-2.6.26 which has the rtc-cmos.ko as a module, my system time got off.
To fix it, I needed to: 1). Add rtc-cmos to /etc/modules 2). Bump running of /etc/rcS.d/S20module-init-tools to /etc/rcS.d/S08module-init-tools so the rtc-cmos.ko would be loaded and have cmos available for reading by hwclock. Using Debian GNU/Linux "testing", kernel 2.6.26, and libc6 2.7-10
