recently I bought a cheap "HP usb network print adapter", regulator model: SDCAB-07-06, which doesnt work at all with linux. I guess, upstream needs to add this functionality to hplip, there is nothing you, the maintainers can do, since it doesnt seem to use either ipp or jetdirect.
