hi,
while normally i'd say having variable-width fonts in a gui interface is
a Good Thing, there are times where it is desirable to have fixed width
fonts. for example, if someone was doing column-oriented output, or in
the case which motivated this bug report, viewing the output of diff in
a text view (see attached).
Just shooting from the hip, i guess an easy way to do so would be to have
a new "Type: code" or similar, which is treated like "note" in all text
oriented frontends, and given fixed-width treatment in the gui frontends.
