I can only reproduce it on a regular basis up to kde version 4.4.5
I am convinced that it was also present in more recent versions, that where in
testing for a while. However, I was not able to reproduce it, even once, with
version 4.8.4, so it is wise to consider it was solved.

As the bug is old could you try with the version in Debian testing (KDE 4.8.4)
and confirm the bug is still there ? Otherwise I will close it, as I cannot
reproduce it.
